We are excited to announce the launch of our Take-off Programme for the 2025 season. The programme aims to provide valuable work experience opportunities for our students and equip them with practical skills and insights into various industries, helping them prepare for their future careers.   The Take-off Programme is structured into two levels, each catering to different stages of our students' academic journey:   Ignite: Tailored for our F8 students, this level provides a general introduction to the world of work, offering exposure to different fields and helping students explore their interests – dates 2nd and 3rd of June. This experience is part of an LTR unit, and the presentation will be part of this unit's assessment.   Launch: Geared towards our F11 students, this level offers more specialised work experience opportunities in specific areas of interest. It lasts a week – any week during the Summer holidays – from the 15th of June onwards.   For more information, visit our CLIP Take-Off Programme page.   For the Ignite level, the areas are not important yet, but the older students must have their experiences in an area of their interest. We are excited to announce two upcoming charitable second-hand sales organised by Clippers in Motion:              Second-Hand Book Fair – April 3rd & 4th             Second-Hand Uniform Sale – April 7th & 8th      How You Can Help: Donate Books!    To support our Second-Hand Book Fair, we encourage you to donate gently used books by dropping them off in the designated boxes opposite the Front Desk from March 21st to 31st. Students may also leave books with their Form Tutors/Form Teachers.              All books will be sold for 2€, with proceeds donated to PORTO SOLIDÁRIO, an organisation helping families in need in and around Porto.            The sale will be open to students during the school day and to parents from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Front Desk.      Second-Hand Uniform Sale              All uniform items will be available for 4€ each, with proceeds benefiting AJUDA COM SENTIDO in Matosinhos, another organisation supporting local families.            The sale will be open to students and parents from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Front Desk. 

Jornal de Notícias and TVI interviewed some of our Upper School students about OPOMUN 2025. The Oporto Model United Nations gathered nearly 400 participants from 18 schools across six countries. These young delegates tackled pressing global issues, from Artificial Intelligence to the International Court of Justice, demonstrating the power of diplomacy, dialogue, and consensus-building.   A highlight of the event, featured in a TVI interview, was the immersive experience of students representing nations such as France, Germany, India, and Iran. They negotiated, drafted proposals, and voted on resolutions, mirroring real-world diplomatic processes. Meanwhile, Jornal de Notícias reported on the intense debates within the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), where participants focused on how climate change forces populations to relocate and how global cooperation can uphold peace and stability.   Participants research and represent diverse countries and real-world insights on topics once thought outdated, such as piracy, which still impacts parts of Africa and Asia. Delegates tackled these challenges by researching and representing diverse countries. Students reflected on real UN debates and managed critical skills within negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving.   Many participants see OPOMUN as a stepping stone towards future careers in international relations, drawn by the transformative power of diplomacy. By fostering an understanding of global cooperation and governance, OPOMUN 2025 continues to nurture a new generation of leaders ready to confront the complexities of our interconnected world.
