CLIP - Oporto International School, accredited by the Council of International  Schools (CIS), was established in 1990 and today is a fast-growing school with approximately 1200 students,  aged 3  to 18, from  52  different countries.  All students are provided with an education which promotes the highest academic standards within a learning culture that is explicitly internationally minded. CLIP fosters an innovative, challenging and warm environment for learning, where each child is encouraged to develop their unique talents.

CLIP follows the EYFS, an adapted National Curriculum for England, the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and Cambridge AS and A2 studies.

The city of Porto, built along the hillsides overlooking the mouth of the Douro river, is an outstanding urban landscape with a 2,000-year history. The city is located where the Douro River meets the sea and its city centre was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. CLIP's premises is situated in one of the most prestigious areas of Porto, at a walking distance from the sea, and constitutes an important architectural project.

For the academic year 2026-2027 (September), we are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Mathematics Teacher for Middle and Upper School (ages 9 to 18).

Requirements

• A degree in Mathematics and a recognized teaching qualification (QTS/PGCE or equivalent).
• A valid EU passport or work permit allowing employment in Portugal.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Strong commitment to innovation, creativity, collaboration, and flexibility in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development and Delivery: Collaborate with the department to plan and deliver engaging lessons following the Cambridge curriculum.
• Classroom Instruction: Use a range of teaching strategies fostering a positive classroom environment to enhance students’ understanding of Mathematics.
• Assessment: Design and implement varied assessment methods to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
• Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching approaches and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs, including students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
• Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues across the mathematics department and the wider school community to support interdisciplinary learning and student development.
• Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional learning to stay updated with the latest developments in Mathematics education and pedagogy.
• Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, academic concerns, and ways to support learning.
